Staff MembersOur staff has been charged with the mission of helping patients reach their goals in aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery. From the person that answers the phone to the physician and nurse that perform surgery we are committed to this task. Dr. Gary Donath is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has remained active and takes a recertification exam every ten years. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. He travels to Central America often to provide reconstructive surgery for children in developing nations that are unable to provide services such as cleft lip and palate repairs, burn reconstruction and other developmental and acquired deformities. Dr. Donath has been very active locally in San Luis Obispo to facilitate improvements in health care delivery. He served as President of the San Luis Obispo County Medical Society in 2004 and President of the Society Group Foundation in 2005. He remains dedicated to work with other physicians to improve medical services in our community. Our staff includes a Patient Coordinator who is responsible for scheduling consultations, appointments, answering common questions, and managing the schedule. The staff also includes a nurse who assists in surgical procedures and manages patients in the recovery room, a medical assistant who helps prepare patients for surgeries and assists during their post-operative recovery, and our practice administrator who supervises all activities and individuals. Anesthesia services include general anesthesia, sedation, and local anesthesia. Board-Certified Anesthesiologists provide care for patients that require general anesthetic agents to ensure safety and comfort. Individuals in the surgical suite are appropriately trained in CPR and ACLS. Equipment, instrumentation and pharmaceuticals are present and available in accordance with the standards mandated by the AAAASF. |
